Speech-Language Pathology (Speech Therapy)

Kaymar's speech-language pathologists are licensed professionals that treat children and adults experiencing speech or language disorders, voice difficulties, swallowing difficulties, or who need access to alternative forms of communications.

We have vast experience assessing and treating acquired speech and language disorders experienced by children, as well as symptomatic disorders resulting from stroke, head injury, cancer or neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson''s and Lou Gehrig''s. Our goal is to facilitate improvement of the speech language function.

Kaymar provides services in the areas of articulation/phonology, voice and fluency. Our interventions are comprehensive and often includes family members and caregivers. We take time to address your concerns and answer questions you may have.

Speech language pathology services are flexible to address individual needs.

  • We assess current communication skills of adults and children.
  • We assess swallowing abilities of adults and children.
  • We identify speech language pathology needs, provide treatment and consultation.
  • We prescribe appropriate devices for persons who have lost the ability to speak, such as electrolarynges, voice output devices, messaging devices and adapted computer hardware and software.
  • Kaymar assists in the gain or regain of communication skill or to help clients learn to communicate in a different way to become an effective communicator again. In addition to treatment, we provide support and education during the treatment process as required by the individual, his or her family, caregivers and client care team.
  • We consult and collaborate with other members of the health care team to ensure the best outcome.
